Aug 2005 Update

Hhy howdy folksIt's been far too long between updates, and alot has happened. We won't bore you with the little stuff, so here's a summary of the bigger stuff. We successfully moved into our new apartment in July and we love the new location. It's a family oriented community with lots of parks and shops nearby. Not long after moving in we were informed they are selling off our apartment building, so we're waiting to hear whether we'll need to move out again. Fingers crossed a new owner will only want it as a rental property. Mid-August Anita went on a training trip to Boca Raton in Florida. The night before she flew out, we went to a friends place for dinner and she managed to pick up a bug from one of the kids. Manu was totally fine - thank goodness. This very nasty bug left her holed up in her hotel for 2 days. Luckily she had plenty of room service!
The pictures of Del Ray Beach that we've posted are from Anita's one and only night out in Boca Raton before she flew home. Our friends Goce & Stacey held a BBQ at our apartment complex pool with a group of friends - no particular occasion but a fabulous day was had with lots of yummy food that Stace & Simone managed to put together - see photos. Manu's been doing alot of hard work for the Deloitte Parents network. He's coordinated newsletters and helped organise events. They recently had a wonderful event at the zoo that Manu, Goce, Stacey, Bella, Bethany & Anya attended (hence the Zoo pictures). We booked a 4 day weekend trip to Memphis & Nashville Tennessee, but Expedia buggered up our flights and we ended up having to cancel everything at the last possible moment. We spent the weekend in SF doing all the housework stuff we've been putting off for ages. Both destinations are still on the list of places to visit. Anita got made permanent and was given a pay rise in August, however on September 8th she got told that the San Francisco office will be shifting to Boston, MA. She'll find out on 1 October whether they are giving her a new job with a sister company, relocating her or paying a severance package. The media has been going crazy with news about Hurricane Katrina. We know a few people who got hit by the Hurricane. Luckily they were 2 hours away from New Orleans and nobody was hurt, but they still got a fair amount of damage to their homes. The main issue for them was power outages and lack of fresh water. Apparently the local airport was also limping along on a generator that would go down every 2 hours - so flights were severely delayed and infrequent. That's about all from us for now - thanks for sticking with us. Lots of love and big Manu hugs
Manu & Anita
xx
